The New Moon in Sagittarius – 14th December 2020
The last New Moon for the year occurs in the sign of Sagittarius. A well known free-spirited fire sign, that can add to the new outlook feeling of moving forwards! The New Moon also appears alongside a Solar Eclipse, that will enable us to shake up those plans we have been putting off, allowing us to lay out a new plan of action for a brighter and (let’s face it!) a much better new year!
The Solar Eclipse will appear in the early darkening of the sky at 4:14 pm UK time, with the New Moon on its heels 2 minutes later! With the New Moon in Sagittarius, it can give us an optimistic approach to life that will surely be a boost to the rest of the month ahead.
The added element of a Solar Eclipse makes the power of the New Moon almost like a superpower! The speed of the way changes can happen will be something that you can use to your advantage. Especially if you have been waiting for a decision or on that someone who can’t make up their mind! Use this cosmic energy to get to where you want to be!

There is another great conjunction between the planets this month. In this case, it’s Mercury and Mars, the Roman gods of messengers and battles! But in the present day, they are a powerful combination to have support any communication that is needed! The mischievous planet of Neptune will always like to add confusion and challenges into the mix, but the dynamic duo of Mercury and Mars should be able to see us through.
With the upcoming festive season and after an emotional year of not always being together, it will no doubt be an overwhelming time for many of us. So by embracing the astrological feelers being offered, we can carry ourselves forwards and safely. We have all earned it this year!
Plus on the 17th we have Saturn moving into airy Aquarius, quickly followed on the 18th with Jupiter moving into Aquarius too. This double event gives double strength for ringing in a new era of changes, perfect timing for a new year! It is also the first time in nearly 400 years that this particular alignment has happened! Like the song suggests – This is the age of Aquarius!

The Solar Eclipse aligns itself in a star of Lesath, which is in the sting of the passing Scorpio. The star has it’s nature in the aforementioned Mercury and Mars, so strength and honour, like Roman fighting in a gladiatorial battle, should give you an indicator as to what sort of potential courage you can draw from the Solar Eclipse! Clear thinking and positive energy are your weapons for this time, so use them wisely.
This year’s Solar Eclipse will really only be visible to those living in the southern hemisphere, particularly in the South American countries of Chile and Argentina. So don’t strain your eyes in looking up to see it! Protect your eyes with the correct solar viewer eclipse glasses if you do happen to look. Remember, safety first!

Also occurring throughout the world for the next couple of weeks will be some impressive meteor showers, known as Geminids. They will peak with the beginning of the New Moon, so will appear at their brightest lighting up the night sky!
