What is a Mercury Retrograde, and what are the effects?<\/h2>\n
A Mercury Retrograde cycle lasts about 3 weeks (the most potent phase), occurring around 3 times per year. Mercury is the fastest moving planet, taking only 88 days to orbit the Sun \u2013 whereas the Earth takes 365 days. During Mercury Retrograde and Retroshadow, Mercury moves slower than normal. The Mercury Retrograde Diagram shows how Mercury appears to be moving backwards in the sky from the Earth\u2019s perspective (see the diagram\u2019s Orange S Line from West to East, showing Mercury going back on itself at the S bend). This trajectory is known as Retrograde, which means \u2018moving backwards\u2019. The Mercury Retroshadow phase is a 2 week period before and after the Retrograde cycle. The Retroshadow effects can seem much less potent than Retrograde – but are still worth consideration. The full duration for Retroshadow and Retrograde cycles are approximately 7 weeks long.<\/p>\n
