A Brief History of Easter<\/strong><\/h2>\nResurrection Sunday<\/strong><\/a> commonly known as Easter<\/strong> is a festival and holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus. Global celebrations include Church services, festive family meals eating ham and Easter egg decoration. <\/span><\/p>\nWith each Easter comes the\u00a0various ways in which we celebrate it. The dyeing of Easter eggs<\/strong> represents rebirth and life. Easter bunnies can be traced back\u00a0to the Goddess of Spring<\/strong>, whose name is Eostre<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\nIt was Eostre<\/strong> (or Easter<\/strong>) who was also known as the goddess of fertility, which is the trait that bunny rabbits<\/strong> are famous for! A hollow chocolate<\/strong> bunny is always a very welcome treat!<\/p>\nThe origins of the Easter basket<\/strong> are of a nest in which the bunny should leave eggs, which we carry on to this day, with Easter egg hunts.\u00a0 Also, we might enjoy a h<\/span>ot cross bun! <\/span><\/p>\nSweet rolls with raisins and marked with a cross on top.\u00a0Back in the 12<\/strong><\/span>th<\/strong> century<\/strong>, this tradition started with a monk who was inspired to mark his rolls to celebrate Good Friday<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThere is an old superstition that wearing new clothes on Easter Sunday<\/strong> means good luck for the rest of the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nCelebrating Easter At Home<\/strong><\/h2>\nFor most of us, this year will be very different as many of us will be celebrating<\/strong> at home. Here are some ideas to celebrate the Easter<\/strong> weekend at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Bake Easter treats like chocolate nests and hot cross buns.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Have an Easter egg hunt in the house and or garden. These can be eggs that you have made yourself by dyeing or chocolate eggs. You could make clues.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Arts and crafts for Easter can be a lot of fun. Making Easter baskets to collect the eggs on the hunt will be a lot of fun for children.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Some churches have online services that can be joined easily with a few clicks.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Luna\u2019s Easter for 2020<\/strong><\/h2>\nMy plan for Easter<\/strong> is to celebrate in as many ways as I can with my son. On Good Friday<\/strong> we shall decorate eggs by dyeing them and adding some glitter. I have quite a few decorations I shall be putting out around the house including bunnies and baskets. <\/span><\/p>\nOn Easter Sunday<\/strong> there will be an Easter egg hunt with only a few clues. Easter lunch will be a roast chicken and all the trimmings with chocolate eggs for pudding.
