In the Northern Hemisphere<\/strong>, March 20<\/span>th<\/span> 2022 brings us the Spring Equinox<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. Longer days of light are ahead and not a moment too soon!<\/span><\/p>\n

After the darkness<\/strong> of winter, we are now stirring awake and gently breathing ourselves back into the newness<\/strong> and freshness<\/strong> of spring.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Spring Equinox?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The equinox is a point of equilibrium<\/strong> where night and day are of equal length<\/strong>; masculine and feminine are in harmony; dark and light, inner and outer, are in perfect balance<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The trees<\/strong> are waking, the birds<\/strong> are singing and there\u2019s a damp, floral scent<\/strong> that we catch now and again as the sun<\/strong> starts to shine and the days become that little bit longer<\/strong> and warmer<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spring Equinox, also known as Ostara<\/strong> after the goddess Eostre\/Ostara in pagan traditions<\/strong>, officially marks the first day of Spring.<\/span><\/p>\n

It celebrates renewal<\/strong> and rebirth<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and is a wonderful time to embrace the fresh<\/strong>, fertile energy<\/strong> of this exciting season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Special Altar for the Spring Equinox<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Make your altar<\/strong> as big or small, as simple or extra as you wish. <\/span>Whatever <\/span>feels<\/span><\/i> right for you, <\/span>is <\/span><\/i>right for you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I love to fill a nice wooden bowl with a vase of daffodils<\/strong> as a centrepiece, and then I fill the bowl with yellow<\/strong> shredded tissue paper<\/strong> (from any card shop, supermarket or online store).<\/span><\/p>\n

Fabric carrots<\/strong> (I got mine from Etsy), little craft chicks<\/strong> (Home Bargains, any craft shop or eBay) some coloured eggs<\/strong> that I either paint myself or get from the craft shelf at any supermarket.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, I place a few chocolate eggs<\/strong> around the bowl for added sweetness<\/strong>! <\/span>The Spring Equinox is such a high-vibe<\/strong> time of year, so just have fun with your altar and enjoy taking some time to be creative.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve finished creating your masterpiece<\/strong>, light a white or yellow candle and call in all the good energy<\/strong> of this beautiful season!\u00a0<\/span>Make wishes<\/strong>. Set intentions<\/strong>. Plan a trip<\/strong>. Start a project<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Invite new love <\/strong>in. Call in your joy<\/strong>. Put on some of your favourite music<\/strong> and sing for your bliss, the way the birds sing for their food; trusting that it will arrive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then plant some seeds<\/strong> in your garden, or a little pot, and water and nurture your seeds of intention until they start to grow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The egg is also a traditional symbol<\/strong> of spring. In old folklore<\/strong>, if you bury a raw egg<\/strong> in your front garden, legend has it that the egg will attract new life and abundance<\/strong> to your door.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
