Mothers Day – Give and take
by Charnjit
In this special blog for Mothers Day, Charnjit explains the numerology and astrology for Mothering Sunday 2017. She gives us an intuitive card reading on how the day will go, plus an affirmation for mums and children alike!
Numerology
Firstly, Mothers Day this year is Sunday 26/3/2017 => 8 + 3 + 1 = 12 = 3
Numerologically it is a 3 day. 3 is great for being social, expressive and upbeat. The “driving force” of the day is 8+3=11 – a master number. So, this is all about sensitivity, partnerships, intuition, leadership through diplomacy and peace and harmony.
The Senses
To me, this Mothers Day feels quite nice, a sense that there’ll be the give and take energy of the 11 and plenty of social upbeat activity of the 3.
I see meals out; connecting with nature; walks in the park; feeding the ducks….
I smell sweet, gentle and subtle smells; not too overpowering
I hear Lily of the Valley
Cards
III – Empress – ruled by Venus, planet of love, therefore represents the mother – need I say more!
XII – Hanged Man – ruled by Neptune, planet of no boundaries, can also represent sacrifice. The imagery on many of the cards representing the hanged man, is a person hanging upside down with a rope attached to his foot. Symbolically this card can also represent mother and child. The endless sacrifices a mother makes and of course, how most of us come into the world head first attached to a cord!
XXI – World – ruled by Saturn, planet of structure and lessons, can represent completion. The imagery on many of the “world” cards is a person who is in the hanged man pose. The difference is that they are in the upright position, standing on top of the world having reached his/her goals. These two cards therefore seem to reinforce the give and take energy of the 11 “driving force” number of Mothers Day this year.
Also, they show the progressive relationship between mother and child – how it is one of give and take. A relationship that starts with no boundaries, but as the child grows and progresses, boundaries are of course necessary. As the child grows further, with each transitional phase (as the World card depicts, completion, endings and beginnings) boundaries change once more and so the cycle starts again.

Mothers Day Astrological Summary;
The Moon and Neptune in Pisces brings a compassionate energy. The planets in Aries bring new beginnings. This therefore gives the ability to forgive and let go of old hurts, wounds and baggage, which can be liberating for both parties. Thus, it brings the opportunity to be kind and forgiving to your mum and to yourself as a mum, if applicable.
In this ever evolving and developing society the “gadgets” in our lives can be both a help and a hindrance. Today’s mum (and many a dad too) is trying her best to juggle and balance her own needs. Work (paid or unpaid, work is still work!), children, the home, relationships, friends, family, schools/colleges/universities.
While the agricultural revolution freed up some mums from having to farm their own produce, they still have to do the shopping and “forage” in the supermarkets.
While industrial revolution freed up some mums from washing clothes and the dishes, they still have to load/unload the machines and then consequently clean the cleaning machines.
And while the information revolution that we are currently going through allows mums to be connected with just about anyone and everyone at the touch of a button or swipe of a screen, allows her to shop online, see what her child’s progress is at school; book appointments online; work remotely, etc., there is also a need for balance so as to prevent information overload and burnout.
… Your Just Rewards
We have all the lovely extras and we’ve probably never had it so good on one level. On the flip side however …. a nice bit of pampering, a cup of tea/coffee or meal in peace with no interruptions can be the best of gifts.
One of our lessons as mums is to accept, receive and enjoy gifts given to us – guilt free. And remember if you’re a mum, every day is Mothers Day , so give yourself a pat on the back!
For working mums, it’s always a constant juggling act between head and heart, split between the two. When at work having to be “on call” for the kids. When with the kids. mentally preparing for work or even doing some background preparation.
Turn Up On Time!
If you’re meeting your mum this Mothers Day, remember the clocks go forward one hour GMT
The Art of Gift Giving
One of the keys to good gift giving, is truly listening to another person. By being fully aware and present in a conversation with another, you may consequently learn much about them. Their likes and dislikes, their hopes and fears, their dreams and wishes. This may therefore also help you when it comes to making choices about the gifts to give on Mothers Day. How well do you know your mum? Do you know what she would like from you most this year?
Mothers Day Meditation/Affirmations
Where I am right now is where I need to be. I am fully focused on the present situation and moment knowing that all other matters are being taken care of. I am grateful for the children in my life today knowing that they are gifts bestowed upon me needing my guidance, support, love, acceptance and appreciation. I am grateful. I am appreciated. I am grateful I am enough. I am enough. There is enough. It is enough. And so it is.
Wishing you much love on Mothers Day, whatever your relationship with your mum/children
