Today’s New Moon occurs in the zodiac of Cancer, a Cardinal Water sign. Cardinal signs are ‘Leaders,’ Water signs are ‘Intuitive,’ and Cancer is ‘Nurturing.’ Cancer the Crab is ruled by the Moon, the Divine Feminine archetype – which influences the cycles of life, oceans, and tides. Horseshoe Crabs lay eggs in spring/early summer during new moons and high tides, when the conditions are right for new life – symbolic of new beginnings.
The Moon (Female Yin energy) is passive, so this new moon phase is more about going with the flow, being open and allowing, and trusting your inner knowing. The opposite to being action oriented and pushing ahead (Masculine Yang Energy). All of these qualities when combined with the New Moon energy, can gently usher in your manifestation desires, particularly when it’s for the greater good.

New Moon’s occur approx. every 29.5 days (Lunation = Moon fully orbits the Earth). Because a New Moon is dark, the surrounding stars and constellations are more visible. The New Moon phase is a powerful time for initiation, introspection, and manifestation – so it’s a perfect time to bring your desires, dreams, and ideas to life.
Consider the New Moon manifestation process is like sowing new seeds of possibilities and opportunities which will grow and bear fruit over time. The principles remain the same for all New Moon phases, and each lunar cycle is influenced by zodiac signs, seasons, and other planetary aspects – therefore key themes and energies will differ each lunation.
