There are 2 full moons in August 2023, this rare event occurs once every 2/3 years and is known as a “Blue Moon”.
The first Full Moon in August is on the August the 1st and it is named “The Sturgeon Moon”.
It is named after the Sturgeon fish that swim in The Great Lakes in North America.
Many people also call it “The Green Corn Moon”, “The Grain Moon” or “The Red Moon”. The first 3 are named after the food that can be caught and harvested and the last one after the appearance of the glow that can been seen in a summers late evening.
Within the Tarot we are in the position of wands heading towards the cups. In translation, we are at the place of dealing with difficult emotions ready for the completion of the year.
FULL MOON MAGIC – SPELL BY INDIGOS ORACLE
For the spell you need to have a piece of plain paper and fold the shorter edge to mark off a square, another piece of paper for notes, pen or pencil.
Start by folding a piece of paper in half. Then cut the edge off so your paper is now square and fold in half diagonally again. With your pen or pencil draw over the folds so you now have a square piece of paper with a cross drawn on it.
In the centre of the square paper with the cross; draw a small circle and put into the circle the 4 directions. E to the right, S to the bottom, W to the left and the top area N (the compass points if the 4 directions).
On a separate piece of paper, list 8 things you are grateful for.
Then consider what symbol or image you can draw to represent this gratitude. Draw the image without concern of your artistic talent in the segment marked E.
*Nothing needs to be complex and detailed. The spell can be simple or detailed, it is your Spell!
“Under the Sturgeon Moon with and open heart and positive attitude”
“I am aware of the lessons and joys in my life and offer deep gratitude”
Next is S. On the other paper, not the spell you are creating, list 8 things you wish to happen in your life and the action that’s needed or change.
Then consider what symbol or image you can draw to represent this. Draw the image without concern of your artistic talent in the segment marked S.
Then consider what symbol or image you can draw to represent this gratitude.
