Today’s New Moon phase takes place in the zodiac of Aquarius, a Fixed Air sign. Aquarius is ‘Unconventional and Visionary,’ Fixed Signs are ‘Focused and Stable‘, and Air signs are ‘Curios and Sociable.’ The combination of Aquarian energies with the qualities of a New Moon – encourages you to think outside of the box and try something totally different.
This New Moon phase also heralds the start of the Chinese Lunar New Year on the 17th of February 2026, the year of the Fire Horse. Chinese Lunar New Years take place on the 2nd New Moon phase after the Winter Solstice – usually between the 21st of January and the 20th of February annually. The year of the Horse is synonymous with Action, Freedom, Fresh Starts, and Movement, and the element of Fire represents Creativity, Purification, and Transformation.
