Mercury Retrograde begins on Thursday the 26th of February through to the 20th of March 2026, lasting for approximately three weeks. This is the first of three Mercury Retrograde phases of 2026, occurring in the zodiac of Pisces, a Mutable Water Sign. The Piscean energies will influence this retrograde, highlighting the need for emotional clarity, deep healing of old wounds, revision of your relationships, and heightened empathy. The Post-Retroshadow phase from the 21st of March to the 9th of April 2026, occurs in the zodiac of Aries, a Cardinal Fire Sign – indicating a shift in energy and perspective from passive to proactive, and the official start of Spring (Spring Equinox is the 21st of March 2026 in the Northern Hemisphere).
Mercury Retrogrades are synonymous with review and analysis, which is a very useful tool for this game of life. Unfortunately, Mercury Retrogrades don’t have the best reputation, tending to get the blame for everything that goes wrong with communications and technologies. Worry and fear based thinking will always make things seem far worse, so why not treat any Mercury Retrograde disruptions and miscommunications as a learning curve. The benefits can far outweigh any perceived negatives – such as opportunities to pause before committing, to re-evaluate and change minds, and to grow on an emotional, practical and spiritual level.
As with all Mercury Retrograde phases, there may be miscommunications, glitches, and delays. You may feel nostalgic, the past may return to the present, and unresolved issues and old patterns may resurface.
