The New Moon on 12th August 2026 falls in the fixed fire sign of Leo, and coincides with a total solar eclipse. Fixed signs bring Focus, Fire brings Action, and Leo brings Bold, Regal Strength. Total Solar Eclipse
A total solar eclipse occurs on this date, crossing parts of the Arctic, Iceland, and northern Spain. This total solar eclipse appears darkened with a bright ring of fire around it. The UK sits just outside totality, so observers may see a deep partial eclipse, with the Moon appearing to take a large ‘bite’ from the Sun – the most dramatic UK appearance since 1999.
