GROUNDING – Psychic Development With Diane Dawson
Grounding. One of the basics of Psychic Development. If you want to develop psychically, like every other art, practice makes perfect! Many people want to dive right in there and have strong abilities early on.
But this can consequently mean some corner-cutting! The important thing early on is to be protected, balanced, and commit yourself to your psychic development on a regular basis if you can.
The Basic Steps
When working at any psychic level, whether you are reading or emotional healing, it’s important that you follow the steps below;
*Grounding – Helps you to keep grounded, and prevent any light headiness. If you are prone to trips or falls, or are generally clumsy, this could perhaps be because you’re not sufficiently grounded.
*Cleansing – When working, you will pick up on all sorts of energy, some negative and some that may be draining. It is therefore important to cleanse so that this doesn’t have any impact on your own personal life.
*Protection – This stops anyone from being able to send anything negative, or take any of your energy from you.
I always suggest to anyone training, that this becomes a part of your daily routine. It is said it takes 8 weeks to form a habit. So in theory, after doing this every day consciously for 8 weeks, it should thus become as natural as getting up & brushing your teeth!
Grounding
I have chosen two exercises. This is because what works for one person, may not work for another. The first one is the one I use.
As a rule, I generally do this exercise as I get out of bed in the morning. You can also do it anytime that you don’t feel grounded. Just remember to choose somewhere that you won’t be disturbed, so mobile on silent etc.
Grounding Exercise #1
*As you get up in the morning, sit on the side of the bed. Allow your feet to be flat on the floor.
*Take the time to be aware of your breathing. Visualise any thoughts or worries placed in balloons, and watch them float away in the sky. Big deep breaths in and out.
*Now visualise your feet. Imagine there are tree roots growing from them, and as they grow, they start making their way towards the ground. If you live in an apartment, you can visualise that you are sitting in a garden with your bare feet touching the grass).
As the roots continue to tunnel through the rich soil, you feel refreshed & energised. The roots keep going down until they come to stop, as they can’t go any further.
*The roots then start to spread out, reaching towards the other roots of big strong trees, such as the mighty Oak. As they connect, the roots will support each other and become intertwined.
At this point, you feel completely grounded. You feel like nothing can push you over. You feel the strength and energy that Mother Nature provides to you by being connected to her.
Grounding Exercise #2
*Sit or Lie down in a relaxed position, ensuring no interruptions. As before, focus on your breathing, and send any worries/thoughts away in those balloons.
*Visualise yourself walking along a white sandy beach. There is no one else here, just you. As you walk along, you make your way to the crystal blue, warm, inviting water.
*As you reach the water’s edge, you see a boat coming towards you. The boat stops in front of you, almost beckoning you in.
*Take a seat in the boat. Take the ores, and allow yourself to go as far as out as you feel comfortable with. Stop when you have reached a place where you feel calm and refreshed. Feel the warm ocean breeze on your face.
*Once you have stopped, visualize an anchor being dropped from the boat, and going as far down to the bottom of the ocean as is physically possible. It keeps going until it hits the ocean floor. You become aware of a real feeling of security coming over you. Nothing can move you until you are ready to be moved.
Practice makes perfect!
Practice your grounding technique daily, and if not, as often as you can. Developing your natural psychic powers will be the next phase, as well as using various tools and card spreads to do readings.
