The Leo Full Moon is on the 5th of February. It will be known as “The Snow Moon”, and has also been called the Ice Moon” and “Storm Moon.” In the darkest of Winter nights, “The Snow Moon” rises and casts an eerie glow on the world below.
Full Moon Magic
The full moon in February is on the 5th of February, it is called a “Snow Moon.” In many cultures, February is a time of hardship and in Native American culture it has been referred to as “The Hunger Moon.” In this modern day February, we hunger for Love at this time of year as St Valentine’s Dy is fast approaching. We generally face three scenarios at this time of the month:
- We’re looking for love
- Looking to rekindle love
- Wishing to accept being without their love (separation, divorce and bereavement).
There are a range of spells that can assist you with each of these scenarios:
Looking For Love
You need an apple – symbol of Aphrodite the goddess of love; clove and cinnamon; a fresh orange; and, a red ribbon.
On the night of the Full Moon or within 72 hours of it, as this is the most potent time, take your apple and carefully carve a heart into it. Then, take the cloves and push them into the outline of the heart.
Recite the following spell: “Under this special Snow Moon I wish my love to come to me soon.”
Sprinkle a little Cinnamon to add a little spice!. Tie a red ribbon around the apple in a bow, and recite: “As I tie this bow to bind May my true love I find.”
Conclude the spell with anointing the apple with the juice of the orange. Keep your apple in your bedroom till it starts to perish.
Looking to Rekindle Love
You will need a red candle. Carefully etch into the red candle the lovers’ names. Light the candle and recite: “Under the Snow Moon’s view I wish our passion & love to renew.”
Dust a little cinnamon on the candle for extra spice. Watch the candle glow and allow it to burn fully.
Wishing to accept being without love
You will need a white candle, a pink ribbon, a candle stand, and flower petals, if you wish to use them.
Hold the pink ribbon in both hands and recite: “Under the Snow Moon’s magical glow I have love, peace and I am ready to let go.”
Tie the Pink ribbon around the candle and place it onto a plate or in a candle holder. Depending on the situation If it is appropriate place a photo and a few petals at the base. Do not burn the candle, untill you are feeling ready to release the emotion or on the eve of the next Full Moon.
For magic to work you have to believe to receive, your focused intention is most important. Always hold within your mind: “Please with the request or casting and a thankyou to express gratitude to the “universe” for supporting your wish.”
Remember though true love always begins and ends with yourself. Self-love is self-acceptance, and it can instigate wonderful changes in you life!
