Courage From Within – with Carma
The word courage is synonymous with brave. Incidentally, courage is often associated with power and even more impressive; we can not see it in its early stages. Despite how powerful it is! Therefore, in short, we are exploring a concept that is powerful but initially invisible! Similarly to emotions, the tension in a room, the wind, gas and so forth.
So, this energy in its initial phase is intangible, and through nurturing it, it blossoms into a tangible form. Once it shows itself in this way, most people can see how we have grown, and the words most often used are “how we have changed”. Whether this is viewed as useful or not depends on the author of these words and what they have to gain or lose, and equally, how we are using our courage.

A Feeling of Strength
When exploring this concept in its primary stages, we will realise that courage amounts to a feeling, a feeling of strength. Naturally, if we lack courage, then we will feel quite the opposite. So, the ultimate destination is to live a courageous life, and the starting point must be first to acknowledge and then accept where we are at, followed by willingness, for the journey to commence.
Our inner voice guides courage. They are very much intertwined. So the quality of our inner voice determines our experiences. Naturally, we have to engage with our inner voice intimately to hear and listen to it. By doing so, we enable our lives to grow through courageous action. The powerful words “feel the fear but do it anyway” are essential and take a leap of faith. In tarot, this notion is depicted by the fool. However, this fool is not reckless but wise!
How to Bolster Your Courage
Firstly we have to be brutally honest about how we feel about our self and our life. The power of awareness!! It is wise to sit securely in awareness and observe self to not run from self. Thus, allowing us to be able to explore how we truly feel and view ourselves. Do we regularly beat ourselves up about the way we handle people or situation? Do we do post mortems after most conversations? Are we highly critical of self? Are we berating ourselves for falling short?
If the answer is ‘yes’ to most of these questions, we need to improve our inner voice quality. How do we go about that? We need to explore ourselves. We likely have a fragile sense of self, self-esteem, worth and confidence. We have to make peace with fear because this is our biggest hurdle to overcome, to be able to access our new image, our true selves. Once we face fear and do not allow it to take hold of us anymore, we can move forward with courage, improving ourselves. Fear keeps us small and imprisons us, and the role of the victim will then become the norm. It impacts the quality of our inner voice. We use words such as, “we can not or unable to do XYZ”.

Confidence in Courage.
Letting Go of Fear
There is no space in our heads to explore the possibility that we may be able to because we are gripped by fear. Once we allow fear in, it grows pretty quickly and does not want to leave. We live life in the defence as suppose to actively participating creatively in our lives. Sharpening our toolset enables us to process and let go of fear and allow us courage. Again, it is a process, so we will need to commence with small and gentle steps to build consistency, and then larger steps can be taken, a bit like sustaining a new diet.
So how do we go about becoming fearless, and which tools should we be exploring? Activities such as journaling our inner thoughts, surrounding ourselves with solution, encouraging and supportive are supposed to complainers/moaners. Movement, mantras, affirmations, meditation, hobbies, banqueting on upbeat music, movies, and books will help us feed ourselves nutritiously. Incidentally, testing ourselves. Suppose we do not take this approach, which could be viewed as courageous in itself. Life will surprise us by lending a helping hand!! When we feel that we are in the right place, we will feel comfortable with our toolset to navigate challenges while striving to reach our potential.
Growing Courage Through the Chakras
Interestingly, we can follow the energy of courage through the chakras. The approach taken here is one of simplicity. Travelling from the base/root chakra, we must feel secure and safe in self, thus creating a solid foundation for the process to commence. As we move towards the sacral chakra, we are then invited to create an intimate bond with self, so very much about learning to feel and understand ourself. The energy then moves to the solar plexus, which is essentially the power engine for growth and where courage feels most at home.
Subsequently, travelling to the heart chakra, where the concept of love, forgiveness and compassion for all are explored. Continuing to move towards the throat chakra, where we are required to hear and speak our truth. The energy then ascends to the third eye or the point in the middle of the forehead, where we learn to trust our selves in making decisions.
Finally arriving at the Crown chakra, we connect with the supreme, divine, source, universe, god or higher self. Here, we feel secure and strong within ourself. We are comfortable with our decisions, although we may entertain other options. Nonetheless, we can make informed decisions from a position of courage and strength. Thus achieving autonomy in company with compassion and fairness.
Once we can raise our vibration to such a high level, courage is then able to thrive. Consequently leaving little or no room for self-doubt. However, if self-doubt presents itself, we can process it effectively with a positive attitude.

The Chakra Points.
Courageous Living
When we have arrived at this place to live differently, we normally have had enough of the old experiences or energies. Or only it no longer benefits us. We are now ready to take responsibility for our life. Once we embark on this journey, we will soon realise that we will be living against the status quo. We will be questioning our self, but so will others. We will be challenged for a duel, or it may sometimes feel like a street fight. Really they are triggering us to see if we truly mean business. These challenges will enlighten us as to how far we have come. The test is, are we ready to let go of the old and grow or do we want to stay in our comfort zone?
You Can’t Please Everyone
For people-pleasers, this journey will be very challenging but equally rewarding. The moment we realise that we can not please everyone and that some people on planet earth will not get us, or even like us, the better. It is an unachievable task!! Some people are highly critical and not just of us but equally of themselves. We will then realise that in most cases, it is not personal, and it is okay. It’s just that they struggle with our energy type, and unfortunately, some cannot see the growth potential here. It then becomes their challenge very much.
By accepting this, we can let go of how others may see us instead of focusing on living our best and fearless lives. Yes, it will be challenging and uncomfortable when dealing with loved ones and coming to terms with disappointment. Naturally, if the opinions are sincere and productive, we will feel this, and we would want to consider and explore them.

Choose Courage.
‘You can choose courage, or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both.’ – Brene Brown.
When Courage is Most Needed
These are just a few examples for further exploration.
(1) To speak up when we know something does not feel right, for us.
(2) To challenge our inner voice positively.
(3) To say we have got it wrong.
(4) To say “No.”
(5) To have uncomfortable conversations.
(5) To change.
(6) To let go initially and to follow through completely, when something no longer serves us.
(7) To say “I love you.”
(8) To run in the right circumstances.
(9) To dance with 2 left feet.
(10) To say “I am vulnerable” and express this feeling along with fears.
(11) To say “I am afraid, but I will try.”
(12) To laugh at oneself.
(13) To ask for help and support.
(14) To say “I can and I will.”
Once we have accepted that we want a courageous life, we begin to seek out situations to test this virtue. The exercise strengthens our courage. By doing this, we become resilient and agile. Without question, these are essential tools to have, especially in these current times. By becoming courageous, we are becoming a warrior or a leader that looks for solutions and knows when to collaborate. Equally, by living such a life, we reduce regrets, feel secure and enhance our strength, confidence, and happiness.
