The Full Moon in Taurus – 19th November 2021
As we head into the winter months, a Full Moon will be appearing in the early hours of the morning sky on Friday 19th November, around the UK time of 08:57 am GMT.
This Frost Moon falls under is in the sign of Taurus, bringing with it good energy for being creative and to explore new ideas! It also brings along a partial Lunar Eclipse, which can amplify the energy of the moon!
The Frost Moon
This November Full Moon is also known as a Beaver Moon by the Algonquin tribes and by colonial Americans. The Native Americans used the monthly Moons, plus nature’s signs as a calendar to track the seasons.
So why this name? Well back then, this was the month to set beaver traps before the swamps froze. This was to ensure a supply of warm winter furs.
The November full moon is also referred to as a Mourning Moon as it is the penultimate full moon before the Winter’s Solstice.
Astrological Influences
This is the second and final eclipse season of 2021 in the sensual earth sign Taurus. Ruled by Venus, the Planet of Love and Beauty, this lunar event is sure to shine a light on evolving relationships.
It comes at a time when this Moon is square to Jupiter in Aquarius, which is amplifying a lot of feelings and emotions. Jupiter’s appearance can make us more susceptible to being self-indulgent and impulsive.
On the flip side, this Full Moon is also forming a sublime trine to Pluto, the Planet of Transformation. Getting through those tougher times and finding yourself wiser and a bit stronger for it.
Having a monthly Full Moon is always a good time for taking stock and letting go of the negatives that we all tend to do. Use the amplified addition of Lunar Eclipse to underline the good feelings!
The Lunar Eclipse
A Penumbral Eclipse begins at 06:02 am before the partial eclipse starts at 07:18 am. The peak begins at 09:02 am and lasts for 3 and half hours, one of the longest for over 500 years!
The Umbra and Penumbra make up the shadows that appear between the planets when closely aligned. The Umbra is the darkest part and the Penumbra is the partial darkest.
Direct sunlight is blocked by the Earth, and the only light reaching the moon is sunlight refracted by Earth’s atmosphere, which is what produces a reddish colour to the Moon.
Be sure you don’t wear yourself out with unnecessary discussions that beat around the bush. Confront it straight on! This Lunar Eclipse can point a way forward!
