Clearing Bad Juju – The Shamanic Egg Cleanse
When we want to call something new into our lives, it’s a good idea to first do a little cleanse to clear out any negative energy and bad luck from our system.
Spring is all about inviting new life, new love and new energy into our experience, but to do this, we also need to release some of the old mud that has built up over the colder months.
What is a Shamanic Egg Cleanse?
A shamanic egg cleanse is a powerful healing ritual that helps to get rid of negative energy from what we have within and around us.
Also known as ‘La Limpia’ in Spanish – which translates to ‘The Cleanse’ – this shamanic ritual is thought to have originally come from Mexico and Mesoamerica.
The egg acts as a cosmic container that absorbs any icky energy that may be stuck in your body, mind or energetic system. Shamanic traditions believe it has the ability to draw out energy from the aura.
It takes what isn’t good for you, absorbs it into its sphere, then removes and releases it to leave you cleansed and ready for a fresh start!
What You Will Need:
- 1 egg
- 1 white candle
- A bit of salt (some people also add lemon juice with the salt)
- A glass of water
What to Do:
(1) Make sure there’s an open window to help escort any negative energy out of your space.
(2) Cleanse the space with some incense or herbs.
(3) Wash your egg in a bit of salty water.
(4) Light the candle and say a little prayer to ask for help from a loving higher power or spirit guide to help and bless you during the ritual.
(5) Run the egg all over your body from head to toe, visualising any negativity, tension and stress leaving your system and being absorbed into the egg.
(6) If the egg breaks before you’ve even put it into the glass, it means that you’ve had a lot of negative energy in and around your space. It’s OK, don’t panic – just clean it all up, call on your guides for a little extra help, and then start again.
(7) Then take the egg and break it into the glass of water, leaving it to settle for about 12 minutes.
Why 12 minutes? In numerology, the number 12 is a sacred number.
(8) Once the egg has settled, it’s time to read your results – more on that in a minute.
(9) Read your results without looking through the top of the glass, if you can.
(10) You’ll be reading the glass from the side, not from above. It can be a bit tricky, but if you concentrate, you’ll be able to decipher the signs.
(11) When you’ve finished reading your results, you need to add a bit of salt to the glass of water – this kind of sinks the absorbed energy to the bottom. Then flush that thing down the toilet, without looking into the glass. The ritual will leave a cleansed space within you, so if you look at what is being released, it can find its way back into your aura because you’re an open door at that moment. So just chuck it and DO NOT LOOK AT IT.
(12) Wash the glass, blow out the candle and say your thanks. Sit down with a nice cup of tea and a little snack to ground you.
How to Read Results:
Water With No Abnormalities – you’re all good, my friend. Ain’t no bad juju in you!
Flower Shapes – good luck and blessings.
Heart Shapes – you have a lot of love in your heart, and you are loved by those around you. It can also mean that a new romance is making its way into your life.
Strings – gossip. Stay away from it. Don’t engage with it. Don’t initiate it.
Faces – if the face shape reminds you of someone and you don’t feel nice when you see it, watch your back around that person. The egg has removed its energy from you, but you need to be careful because they don’t have your happiness at heart. Thinner faces usually represent males, and rounder faces usually represent females.
Animal Shapes – this could be energy from your spirit animals, working with you during the ritual, which will bring a lovely feeling. However, if the animal shape gives you an unpleasant feeling, examine the qualities of that animal and ask yourself if there’s anyone in your circle that you need to be aware of. The egg will remove the energy from your aura, but just be careful that there are no ‘snakes’ or ‘sharks’ around you.
Little Bubbles in the Water – your lovely guide has been able to take away any icky energy, with no issues.
Bubbles Around the Yolk – there’s some kind of illness or fatigue that you’re struggling with, which has been caused by a build-up of negative energy from either within you or around you. The egg has cleansed your energy, but get some rest, eat some nice food and be kind to yourself.
Spikes Facing up Towards the Surface of the Water – Someone is trying to block or harm you in some way. The egg has removed any toxic energy from them, but keep your love life, finances and plans to yourself. Confide in only those you know that you can trust.
