If you have come across the term ‘Twin Flame’, you have most likely also heard this one: ‘False Twin’. This is a particular type of soul connection. If you asked me to categorise it, I would list it under Karmic Partner.
As unique as a False Twin is, they come along with a single purpose – they are preparing you to meet your real Twin Flame in this reality. What that preparation might entail will vary according to your circumstances. Please read on below!

Not everyone has a Twin Flame, so not everyone will have a False Twin. But saying that, the False Twin is a master of disguise and an expert in the art of manipulation, so they could easily persuade you into thinking that they are your one true love.

Chameleon
Your False Twin appears at a time in your life when change is required. Their timing seems almost perfect; it’s as if you manifested them. Life changes when they arrive, but life was already changing before they appeared.
The False Twin can intuitively pick up on what you are looking for in a partner, and they will embody those characteristics. They can sense what you are longing for deep down in your soul, and they will mimic those behaviours.
Often, people consider the False Twin to be a narcissistic personality. Still, they can also be a highly-sensitive empath or psychic [one who is not aware of their gifts so has not trained to use them constructively and positively].
Empaths are incredibly susceptible to one-sided relationships because they take on the other persons’ emotions as their own. Without realising, they will become the person that their partner is craving to heal them or stay in the relationship.
Narcissists will create a persona that allows them to have control over their partner. Again Empaths are vulnerable when dealing with a narcissist as they are eager to please their partner whatever the cost.

Purpose
False Twins come along to awaken you to the Twin Flame journey. Before encountering a False Twin, you may not have heard of Twin Flames or believed in their existence.
When meeting your False Twin, you may begin making different life choices, making new plans, moving cities, changing your job, meeting new friends, or returning to a hobby or interest from your younger days. You may find yourself wanting to pursue a childhood dream or ambition.
This is because the False Twin ignites your core self. They remind you to be true to yourself, and the result can mean that you are pushed onto a new pathway – one that will ultimately lead you to your actual Twin Flame.
Usually, people report significant life changes after meeting their False Twin; sometimes, it’s in pursuit of their False Twin. Sometimes it’s to get over their False Twin.
People often believe that their False Twin is their actual Twin Flame and spend a long time trying to make it work. Let’s look at some False Twin signs to help you clarify your connection.
False Twin Signs
The overriding sign that you are dealing with a false twin is that you lose sight of your unique self. You become focused on pleasing your partner and making the relationship work. You ignore your hopes, dreams and ambitions as you take on your partners goals as your own. In short, a False Twin will not help you to be successful on your life pathway. They halt your progress and even prevent you from achieving your dreams. Your real Twin will have the same life goals, hopes and dreams as you. You will help and support one another to fulfil your ambitions, perhaps even working together.
A False Twin will study you intensely; they will make you feel wanted and needed. You may feel an initial attraction towards them, but you won’t feel that need to know all about them straight away. With your real Twin, the desire to know them is mutual. Your souls are catching up after being apart. You will want to know everything about them and vice versa. You will straight away dive into the intimate details of your life, swap childhood stories, talk about how you like your coffee. Not only will you want to learn about every aspect of their life but you will be keen to share the intimate details of yours as well. There is an instant trust with your real Twin that only comes with your real Twin Flame.
No Development
With a False Twin, you may take on hobbies and interests that go against who you are. I’m all for personal growth and learning new things, but a False Twin will cause you to behave in a way that is not natural for you. You find yourself aligning with their hobbies, interests and behaviours. With your actual Twin Flame, you do not need to change anything about yourself.
Your False Twin will sabotage and undermine you at every opportunity. They will project their fears onto you, and you will change your behaviour to show how much you want to support them.
False Twins take frequently and give very little in return. They will expect unwavering support from you but give you very little. In fact, they will want you to chase them; they will drain your energy. This will be an extremely unbalanced relationship that could easily be mistaken for the Twin Flame journey stages.
There is no room for Spiritual Growth or Personal Development when you are with a False Twin. They do not want you to progress or move ahead in life because they will fear losing control over you. A Twin Flame relationship is about Spiritual Growth and development, they will want you always to be yourself, and you will grow together as a team.
